LDS Temple Appointment Finder is a Chrome extension that helps users search for publicly available temple appointment availability while using their own logged-in browser session on churchofjesuschrist.org. This extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This policy explains what information the extension uses, stores, and shares.
Information the Extension Stores Locally
The extension stores the following information locally in Chrome storage on your device:
- Extension preferences, such as appointment type, selected temples, date and time filters, minimum seats, request delay, and API endpoint.
- The temple catalog, including temple names, addresses, ZIP codes, and coordinates.
- The number of free searches used before unlocking the extension.
This locally stored information is used only to provide extension functionality and is not sold.
Location Information
The extension may request access to your device location so it can sort temples by distance from you. Your location is used in the extension window for sorting only. The extension does not store your location and does not send your location to CroftOps or to a CroftOps server.
Payment and License Information
LDS Temple Appointment Finder allows a limited number of free searches and then requires a one-time payment to unlock unlimited searches. Payments and license checks are handled by ExtensionPay and its payment providers, such as Stripe.
The extension may receive payment status information from ExtensionPay, such as whether the extension has been unlocked and the email address associated with the license. The extension does not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other full payment credentials.
Church Account and Authentication Information
The extension does not ask for, collect, store, or transmit Church usernames, passwords, PINs, security questions, cookies, JSESSIONID values, XSRF tokens, or other authentication credentials.
Availability requests are made by Chrome using your existing browser session when permitted by the official Church website. The extension does not manually read or store your session cookies.
Appointment Availability Searches
When you click Search, the extension sends appointment availability requests to official churchofjesuschrist.org or tos.churchofjesuschrist.org endpoints using your selected search filters. These requests are necessary for the extension to show matching appointment availability.
The extension does not book appointments. Any appointment booking must be completed manually on the official Church website.
Information the Extension Does Not Collect
The extension does not collect:
- Health information.
- Personal communications, such as emails, texts, or chat messages.
- Browsing history.
- Keystroke logs, mouse tracking, or scroll tracking.
- Credit card numbers or full payment credentials.
- Church account passwords or authentication credentials.
Third-Party Services
The extension may communicate with the following third-party services:
- ExtensionPay, for payment and license status.
- Stripe or other payment processors used by ExtensionPay.
- churchofjesuschrist.org and tos.churchofjesuschrist.org, for appointment availability searches initiated by the user.
Those services may have their own privacy policies and terms.
Data Sharing and Sale
CroftOps does not sell user data collected by this extension. The extension shares information only as needed to provide its functionality, such as checking payment/license status through ExtensionPay and querying appointment availability from official Church endpoints at the user's request.
Data Security
The extension avoids collecting sensitive credentials and keeps preferences and free search counts in local Chrome storage. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but the extension is designed to minimize the amount of sensitive information it handles.
Children's Privacy
This extension is not directed to children under 13, and CroftOps does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this extension.
Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
